Update about our house

We got the inspection results back on Saturday. There is "some termite activity" in one corner of the house. (The seller was notified, and has already agreed to have them treated) Then we found out that the floor in the hall bathroom is rotting out. So the entire hall bathroom will have to be torn out. The joists and floor will have to be replaced. The plumbing has been replaced in parts and will need to be finished. Those are the big things. The other things are small, which we can fix on our own over time. The windows have been painted shut. The yard is landscaped, but needs to be cleaned and trimmed. The walls need to be painted and could use new trim. We have scheduled 2 plumbers and 2 contractors for tomorrow to get estimates on the big items. The appraisal should be back tomorrow or Wednesday. Armed with the estimates and the appraisal, we will decide how much to ask the seller to pay. Chances are, we will have to have the bathroom repaired before our lenders will allow us to close on the house. I now know why we have not done this before now. It is hard work getting all of this stuff coordinated! Justin is off tomorrow, so he will be at the house to talk with the plumbers and contractors. I will keep you all updated. We are still excited!
