Sorry for the lack of posting over the last week, we have been very busy. We spent last weekend with Justin's parents, and it was very relaxing. I took my camera with the intentions of getting a few cute pictures out by the water, but I never made it that far. Justin and his dad were able to fish some, which is what he had wanted to do. It was a great weekend!
Justin started his new job this week. There is not much to post, because he will be training pretty much for the next couple of months. He says he is enjoying it so far. I think he is really enjoying all of the cool guy toys that come along with the position!
He woke up vomiting lastnight, we are not sure what is wrong, but we are hoping that it is not a bug! We ate a California Pizza Kitchen- frozen pizza last night for the first time. We are hoping that it just did not agree with him. He has not vomited since about 4 this morning, but he feels bad and is scared to eat anything. He leaves for a trip today at 2pm. I am concerned about him making it through the 45 minute flight being sick. I am also concerned about Owen and I getting sick during the week.
Owen is being Owen. He has taken an interest in puzzles this week and is pretty good at them. He has a few of the peg ones and from my therapy stash, I had a few of the 24 pc ones and one 60 pc Thomas one. Of course, he wants to do the harder ones. He likes for me to place the pieces where they go and he wants to push them in. He has also started noticing muscial instruments and wanting to know what they are. He knows the drum, guitar, and piano, but he wants to know all of the other ones names.
This morning at 6:30, he was waiting on me to wake up and he started randomly pointing to the letters on my shirt and asking, "what letter that?" He keeps us busy!
I am trying to cut back my hours at work some to spend more time at home with Owen, but it has been difficult. The last couple of weeks, I have been at work for 25-30+ hours a week. I am trying to work a full-time job in 20 hours a week. It is not bad when my caseload is down, but right now, I have a caseload of 8 patients. I am the only PRN speech pathologist that the facility has, so if I am not there, then the patients do not get seen. I think that the SLP before me only working with the patients that were having swallowing difficulties. She limited her caseload by not providing any cognitive or language therapy. Of course swallowing should be our first priority, as it is more important to swallow without aspirating than communicate, but I enjoy the cognitive/linguistic part much more! Hopefully my caseload will dwindle some over the next week or so.
I have started nesting some. I have put all of Meg's clothes, shoes, and bows in her drawers. I have also started putting a few pink things on her side of the room. Our front bedroom is actually already painted pink, but I cannot stand the thought of her being so far away, so she and Owen are going to share his room. We painted Owen's room a mint green color and I have accented his side with blue and Meg's with pink. Owen talks about how his baby sister will sleep in his room and he will watch her. It is too cute.
That is about all that it going on here. It has turned COLD, so we are just trying to stay in out of the weather. I will post new pictures tonight.
