I really do not know what it is about this book that lulls Owen to sleep. We have started the routine of reading Goodnight Moon 2 times before we rock and it works like a charm everytime. When we were in Maryland I saw a little boy through extended school year services. His mother told me that each of her two boys were aloud to choose two books they would read at bedtime. She and her husband would each take a child and then the next night they would swap children. The boys really looked forward to this time alone. The reason she choose two books is so that during the day when they were misbehaving, she could threaten them by taking a book away at night. She said that it really worked for them and after one night of no reading the boys straighten up! I hope it works that well for Owen. I am enjoying our rocking time now more than ever, because it is one of the only times during the day that he wants to snuggle.
Sleep update:
Owen is still sleeping on his mattress on our bedroom floor. He is mostly sleeping through the night, with the exception of when he is teething.

How sweet. I'm impressed. Asher isn't into storytimes yet. I hope it comes soon!
OMG, I know that book from memory! "In the great green room...." Jake has never been a good sleeper. It wasn't until he was 8 months old that he finally stopped waking every 4 hours to feed! Now he cries out at least once every night, if he doesn't, its a GOOD night. So I feel your pain!!!
